PPL Foundation has established a scholarship program to advance diversity, equity and inclusion and attract more women and minorities to tech and trade careers.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Powerful Tech and Trade Scholarship must meet all the following criteria:
*Schools in the PPL Power Scholars Network
2-year Junior and Community Colleges:
Bucks County Community College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Luzern County Community College, Montgomery County Community College and Northampton Community College.
Tech and Trade Schools:
Johnson College, Lehigh Career & Tech Institute, Pennsylvania College of Technology, and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Recipients of any other PPL Foundation scholarship are ineligible.
Employees and children of employees of PPL Corporation and its subsidiary companies are not eligible to apply.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to (10) ten awards will be granted. Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need is not considered.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PPL Foundation. Payment is made in August.
