Kenneth W. Freeman Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Quest Diagnostics has established the Kenneth W. Freeman Scholarship Program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college programs.  Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited four-year institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Kenneth W. Freeman Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 23 and under, of full-time or part-time Quest Diagnostics employees up to and including Director level or equivalent, who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or are already enolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award.  Up to eight (8) awards will be granted.

Depending on the policy of the institution, there is a potential impact on the amount of Financial Aid a student can receive if awarded outside scholarships.

Awards are for one year and are for undergraduate study only. Recipients may receive the award one time only.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Preference will be given to students attending regionally accredited schools.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Quest Diagnostics play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students not receiving an award may reapply to the program each year they meet the eligibility requirements.

Scholarship America processes Kenneth W. Freeman scholarship payments on behalf of Quest Diagnostics. Payments are made in one installment on August 1.
