Raytheon Scholars Program
Application status: Closed

Raytheon Company has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Raytheon Scholars Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of active Raytheon Company employees who have a minimum of one year of full-time employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Children of part-time employees working 20 hours or more per week are also eligible.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • College/postsecondary students** who have completed at least one full quarter or semester and who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the 2020-21 academic year.
**Students must have received a high school/secondary school diploma as of September 1, 2019. Current high school seniors are not eligible.
  • Under the age of 24 as of the application deadline date.

Applicants may receive only one Raytheon scholarship in any academic year. If an applicant has received another scholarship from Raytheon in the same academic year, they will not be eligible for Raytheon Scholars, and vice versa.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award for the following year of undergraduate study.

Awards are for undergraduate study only and are not renewable. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations and unusual personal or family circumstances. Consideration will be given to students pursuing a STEM related course of study. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or associate of Raytheon Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in early June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Raytheon Company. Payment is made in one installment in early-August.
