Orange County Community Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist residents of Orange County, Los Angeles County or Riverside County who plan to continue their education in two-year college in one of those counties.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the REP 1 RISE Scholarship must:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to seven (7) awards will be granted.
Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Awards may be used for all education related-expenses. After all education expenses at the college have been met, any remaining funds may be released to the student. Any amount released to a recipient may be taxable.
All applicants will be notified in June.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Orange County Community Foundation. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives and unusual personal or family circumstances.
Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Orange County Community Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
