Roche Bros. Supermarkets Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Roche Bros. Supermarkets values each associate and recognizes the essential contribution each associate makes to the company’s success. In this family-oriented company, the associates and company are committed to each other. As a demonstration of its caring, Roche Bros. has established a scholarship program to assist associates and their legally dependent children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Roche Bros. Supermarkets Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of full- or part-time associates who have 1,000 hours employment in the prior calendar year and one year continuous service with the company as of the application deadline date,
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

  • Active part-time associates who have three or more years of continuous service and 500 hours employment in the prior calendar year with Roche Bros. Supermarkets as of the application deadline date,

  • Active part-time associates who have fewer than three years of continuous service and 750 hours employment in the prior calendar year with Roche Bros. Supermarkets as of the application deadline date

  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. Recipients must enroll in school no later than the fall term following the announcement of awards. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Students may only receive one award each year from Roche Bros. Supermarkets.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Recipients must demonstrate $1,000 or more financial need to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or associate of Roche Bros. Supermarkets play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

All applicants will be notified in May.
