SAS offers a scholarship program to assist children of employees who will be attending Cary Academy.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the SAS Cary Academy Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of active full-time or regular part-time US employees of SAS or its subsidiaries, who have a minimum of one year of continuous employment as of the application deadline date.
    *Dependent children are defined as biological and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or children of domestic partners (signed affidavit required).
  • Accepted by Cary Academy for grades 6-12 for the school year beginning in August 2023.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $11,000 award.

Awards may be renewed for up to six (6) years or until a diploma is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance, continued enrollment at Cary Academy and continued parental employment at the time awards are paid.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of SAS. Payments are made to Cary Academy in equal installments in July and December, provided the parent remains employed.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected basis of:

  • Past academic performance;
  • Two online recommendation forms supporting the applicant’s potential future leadership and;
  • Participation in school and community activities.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of SAS play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Revision

SAS reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your school’s policy does not allow you to receive an official transcript, the school may email the document directly to Scholarship America. To by-pass the requirement to upload a transcript, upload a document in its place indicating “Transcript will be sent by school.”

Two online recommendation forms must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 3, 2023 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
