Robot Appreciation Society Scholarship Program

Tyler Schilling has established the Robot Appreciation Society Scholarship Program to assist TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is only offered to TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics employees’ children and selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does Tyler Schilling or any officer or employee of TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics play a part in the selection, nor is the program supported and connected in any way to TechnipFMC.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America® is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

All information submitted is kept confidential and only accessible by Scholarship America Representatives.

Applicants to the Robot Appreciation Society Scholarship Program must be:

  • Children, age 26 and under, of full-time (40 hours per week) TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics employees who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as January 30, 2020.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.


If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 U.S. currency. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at TechnipFMC, and continuation of the program by Tyler Schilling.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.


Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes Robot Appreciation Society scholarship payments on behalf of Tyler Schilling. Payments are made in equal installments on August 15 and December 15.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Applications from college-bound students and vocational-technical school students are evaluated in two separate groups. Award amounts are determined based on school costs.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does Tyler Schilling or any officer or employee of TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics play a part in the selection, nor is the program supported and connected in any way to TechnipFMC. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Application Information

Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades to Scholarship America postmarked no later than January 30, 2020. Grade reports are not acceptable. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken. Applicants will receive email acknowledgment of receipt of their application. If an acknowledgment email is not received within three weeks, applicants may call Scholarship America to verify that the application has been received.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Instructions for completing the Financial Data section of the application are included. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship America.

Applicants must print the page(s) of the application containing the Applicant Appraisal and Transcript Information sections (if part of the application) and submit to the appropriate individuals for completion (if applicable). These sections cannot be completed electronically.

Mail the completed application form (including the completed Appraisal and Transcript sections if part of the application, and any other required documents) to Scholarship America by the program’s application postmark deadline: January 30, 2020. The mailing address is on the application form.
