ScottMadden Inspire Scholarship

ScottMadden, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate sophomores or above who identify as Black or African American and are current residents of Atlanta, Boston, or the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. These individuals must also be pursuing a major in Business Administration, Consulting, Energy, Finance or Accounting, Human Resources, IT or Technology at an accredited four-year college or university.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the ScottMadden Inspire Scholarship must:

    • Identify as Black or African American
    • Be current residents of Atlanta (GA), Boston (MA), or the “Research Triangle” (consisting of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill areas of North Carolina), or their surrounding metropolitan areas
    • Be current undergraduate sophomores or above majoring in one of the following disciplines:
  • Accounting
  • Business Administration
  • Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management

…or other majors reasonably similar or relating to the following:

    • Consulting
    • Energy
    • Human Resources Management
    • IT or Technology
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • An online recommendation
  • Financial need

Selection of five (5) finalists is made by Scholarship America. ScottMadden, Inc. will select recipients.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. One recipient will be awarded.

Awards are renewable for one (1) additional year of continued undergraduate study, if applicable. Awards cannot be used for graduate study.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of ScottMadden, Inc. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • A copy of the most recently filed Form 1040.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 21, 2023 3:00 pm CT.
