The Structured Finance Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist active participants in one of Mentor Foundation USA’s programs who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Structured Finance Foundation Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:
Children of officers of Structured Finance Foundation and Mentor Foundation USA are ineligible to apply.
Awards of $10,000 each will be granted for four-year studies, and awards of $5,000 each will be granted for two-year or vocational technical studies.
The awards may be renewable, with award amounts subject to review, for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic performance (a grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent) in a full-time course of study, continuation of the program by SFIG Foundation, and the following criteria:
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest financial need.
Selection criteria will include the consideration of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, including active participation in the Mentor Foundation USA’s Career Mentoring or Youth Ambassador programs, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation from an adult not related to the applicant.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Structured Finance Foundation or Mentor Foundation USA play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in May.
