Sixt Scholars Program
Application status: Closed

Sixt rent a car has established a scholarship program to assist high school students who plan to continue their college education. Scholarships are offered each year to students seeking to study full-time at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted regardless of a person’s race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Sixt Scholarship Program must be:

  • Graduating high school seniors in the United States
  • Plan to enroll in a full time undergraduate study at an accredited two year or four year college or university for the entire 2019-2020 academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award to be used for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Up to five (5) awards will be granted each year. Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Only the first 500 submitted applications will be accepted.

Applicants will be notified in late January. Not all program applicants will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Sixt rent a car. Payments are made in equal installments on August 1 and December 15. A check is made payable to the student’s school and mailed to each recipient’s home address.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

  • academic record
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • honors
  • work experience
  • statement of goals and aspirations
  • unusual personal or family circumstances
  • an outside appraisal
  • an essay on the selected topic

Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial need is assessed to determine the amount of each award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Sixt rent a car play a role in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
