The PepsiCo Foundation Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist students at Norfolk State University, Hampton University, Jackson State University and Morgan State University. Starry Fizz Fest is honored to reward stars on and off the court, providing support to fuel students who showcase their power to pursue their passions in the classroom and in the world.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Scholarship America has the sole responsibility for selecting finalists and recipients based on criteria set forth in the program guidelines and decisions are final.

Applicants to the Starry Fizz Fest Scholarship powered by The PepsiCo Foundation must:

  • Be current college freshmen, sophomores, or junior undergraduates attending one of the following HBCUs:
    • Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA
    • Hampton University, Hampton, VA
    • Jackson State University, Jackson, MS
    • Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD
  • Be pursuing a degree in Business, Sports, Marketing, Music, Fashion, or Journalism
  • Continue full-time undergraduate study at one of the schools listed above for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Children of PepsiCo, Inc. or Sponsor employees are ineligible.


If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $20,000 award. Up to 4 awards will be granted.

Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards can be used for any education-related expenses or to cover student loans.


All applicants will be notified in August.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PepsiCo Foundation, Inc. Payment is made in late August/early September.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information section of the application. Please black out all social security numbers and bank account information.
  • A link to a 60 second video response: How do your passions help fuel your career goals and motivate you to reach for the STARS? What does this scholarship mean to you?
