Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation

Scholarship Program

Application status: Closed

Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation (the Foundation) has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be high school seniors graduating from a high school in Dane or Rock County, WI.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Demonstrate engagement in the game of golf through one of these respective categories: competitive participation, recreational participation, employment at a golf course or golf retailer, caddy at a golf course, or volunteer at a golf tournament.

Award Information

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Two essays
  • Any unusual circumstances
  • An outside appraisal

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by the Foundation. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Foundation. Payment is made in August.
