PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships offers the Evelyn E. Stricklin Award for high school seniors in Delaware planning to attend University of Delaware.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Evelyn E. Stricklin Award must be:

  • Residents of Delaware.
  • High school seniors graduating from a high school in the state of Delaware who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at the University of Delaware for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Must meet two of the three academic standards:
    • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
    • Have scored 1120 or better on SAT.
    • Placed in the top 10% of class as shown on transcript or letter from counselor.

PNC employees or Trust committee members, their immediate family members, and members of their households are not eligible to apply

Awards

The authorized distribution for new and renewal awards is determined by PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintenance of a 3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent). If the student fails to meet the GPA requirement, the Selection Committee may request the scholarship recipient provide a reason for such academic performance and has full discretion to determine whether or not that recipient’s award is renewed.

Awards are for undergraduate study at the University of Delaware only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships. Payments are made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Any unusual personal or family circumstances.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need based on Suggested Parental Contribution (SPC).

Scholarship America will process the applications for eligibility, and PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships selection committee will select the recipients and determine the award amounts. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • If SAT test scores are not included on the transcript, you must also upload a copy of your SAT test scores.
  • First two pages of the most recently filed 1040 IRS Form (Please black out SSN).
  • A copy of your current, Delaware drivers license.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
