Stride, Inc. (formerly known as K12 Inc.) has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors attending an online school that is powered by Stride K12 who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the We Stand Together: College Scholarship for Stride, Inc. must:
Children of employees of Stride, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries are ineligible.
The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $250,000 as follows:
We Stand Together Achievement awards are not renewable; however recipients of this award may reapply in future years for a general award. Applicants are eligible for a maximum lifetime award of $55,000 (initial award of $25,000 followed by up to 3 awards of $10,000).
General awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance. Recipients of this award are eligible for a maximum lifetime award of $40,000.
*If a recipient changes their college choice and does not attend an HBCU, they will receive a general renewable award of $10,000.
Awards are for undergraduate study only and can be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, academic record, a statement of goals and aspirations, unique personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Applicants will be required to upload a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA filing. Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Stride, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in late June.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Stride, Inc. Payment is made in early August.
