TD Bank U.S. Achieve the Dream Scholarship Program

TD Bank United States (U.S.) has established a scholarship program to assist children of eligible U.S. TD Bank and TD Securities Employees. This scholarship provides exceptional students with a one-time award to be used toward their educational expenses during their first year at an accredited college, university or vocational technical school. Awards are for one year only and are not renewable.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a dependent child* of an eligible TD Bank Employee or TD Securities Employee working in the United States**, living in the Employee’s household; or primarily supported by the Employee
    *Dependent children are defined as natural or legally adopted children, children for whom
    custody has been assumed and step-children (provided they are an employee’s spouse’s/domestic partner’s* natural or legally adopted children and the spouse/domestic partner has legal custody) who are dependent on the employee for maintenance and support.

    **Eligible TD Bank/TD Securities Employees must be working in the US at least 10 scheduled hours per week with at least 1 year of continuous service as of the application deadline. Employees must be actively employed in good standing at the time scholarship decisions are made. Employees on an approved leave of absence who meet the above criteria remain eligible. Expats and cross border commuters must apply for the program in the country they work in the majority of the time.
  • Be applying for their first full-time* year of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
    *Full-time is defined as enrollment in 12 units/credit hours per term or its equivalent for the entire academic year. Applicants are eligible if you decide to take one gap year between secondary and post-secondary school.

The following are ineligible to apply:

  • Children of employees working and/or living in Canada for the majority of the time
  • Children of seasonal, temporary, intern and contract employees
  • Children of members of the TD Bank Management Committee
  • Undergraduate students already in college
  • Grandchildren
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of TD Bank play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

The selection process will not be influenced or affected by race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, nationality, creed, citizenship, alienage, marital or domestic partnership or civil union status, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, mental or physical disability, veteran status, liability for military service, whistleblower status, atypical cellular or blood trait, genetic information (including testing, the refusal to submit to genetic testing and characteristics), or any other characteristic protected under federal, state, or local law.

Award information:

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award.
  • Awards are for one year only and not renewable.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification:

Applicants will be notified in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships:

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of TD Bank. Payments are made in one installment in late June. Student must complete their Scholarship Acceptance Form in order to receive payment.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately.

    One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 5, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
