TE Connectivity FIRST Scholarship
Deadline to apply: May 30, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time

TE Connectivity has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who are members of a FIRST Team who plan to continue their education in college.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the TE Connectivity FIRST Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

    • Be a current high school senior.
    • Be a current member of a FIRST Robotics Team and First Tech Challenge Team. Only FIRST students will be considered.
    • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university, community college, technical school or vocational school for the entire 2024-2025 academic year.
    • Planning to major in a STEM discipline.
    • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.

Children of TE Connectivity vice presidents and above are ineligible to apply.

Awards

Up to eight (8) awards of $2,500 each will be granted as follows:

  • Four (4) awards for any student.
  • Four (4) awards for diverse students (LBGTQ, gender identity, race, ethnicity).

SAI will select recipients for all awards. If there are not enough qualified applicants for any specified group, more awards may be granted in another group.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of TE Connectivity. Payment is made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Assuming there are qualified applicants, the diversity of recipients will reflect the diversity of the applicant pool.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of TE Connectivity play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
