TENNANT Global Scholarship Program

Tennant Company has established a global scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college, university or vocational school programs. Through this program, we hope students in Tennant Company families will find encouragement to continue their education after completing high school.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility
Applicants to the TENNANT Global Scholarship Program must be:

  • Unmarried, dependent children of full-time, three-quarter time, or part-time regular domestic employees and employees outside of the United States who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline. Children of deceased Tennant Company employees who had been employed by Tennant Company for one year or more, providing the employee has been deceased for less than five years are also eligible.
  • High school seniors (U.S. or Canada) or students in their final year of upper or higher secondary school (Global), high school or upper/higher secondary school graduates, or current college undergraduates, who are enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- year or four- year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Dependent children of the senior management team are not eligible.

To be eligible to receive an award, the parent must be employed when scholarship awards are announced, typically in May, with the exception of applicants whose parents are deceased.

Awards

If selected as a new award recipient, the student will receive an award up to $1,750. Up to 33 new awards may be given.

Recipients will be selected in proportion to the percentage of employees in each business region (APAC, EMEA, LATAM, US/CA) as long as there are qualified applicants.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at Tennant Company, and continuation of the program by Tennant Company. Students who marry are no longer eligible for renewal.

Awards are for undergraduate study only and may be used for tuition and academic fees.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in mid-May.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Tennant Company play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Tennant Company. Payment is made in one installment in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • English translations for any non-English documents must be provided.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
