TENNANT Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: April 1, 2020 3:00 pm CT
Tennant Company has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Through this program, we hope students in Tennant Company families will find encouragement to continue their education after completing high school.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility
Applicants to the TENNANT Scholarship Program must be:

  • Unmarried, dependent children, of full-time, three-quarter time, or part-time regular U.S. or international employees of Tennant Company who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline. Children of deceased Tennant Company employees who had been employed by Tennant Company for one year or more, providing the employee has been deceased for less than five years are also eligible.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current college undergraduates, who are enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Dependent children of the senior management team are not eligible.

To be eligible to receive an award, the parent must be employed when scholarship awards are announced.

Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. Up to 22 awards may be given.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at Tennant Company, and continuation of the program by Tennant Company. Students who marry are no longer eligible for renewal.

Awards are for undergraduate study only and may be used for tuition and academic fees.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Tennant Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in mid-May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Tennant Company. Payments are made in equal installments on August 1 and December 15.

Revisions
Tennant Company reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
