Teradyne Scholarship Programs

Teradyne’s success is the result of the hard work of thousands of employees who, over nearly six decades, have used their knowledge, dedication and insight to solve some of the most challenging problems in the electronics industry. Teradyne recognizes the importance of education in our long-term success and the ongoing success of our society. The program’s scholarships – Teradyne Scholarships and the Peter Hashem Memorial Scholarship — are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

Teradyne Scholarships are open to high school seniors and students currently attending schools or programs that meet the eligibility criteria. The Peter Hashem Memorial Scholarship is open only to high school seniors planning to attend a school or program that meets the eligibility criteria.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Teradyne Scholarship Program and The Peter Hashem Memorial Scholarship must be:

  • Dependent* children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of full-time, regular worldwide Teradyne, Inc. employees who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. Grandchildren are not required to live in the employee’s household nor be supported by the employee but must be dependents supported by a parent or guardian.
  • Peter Hashem Memorial is open to high school seniors only.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Planning to enroll or already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Non-U.S. Students: Applicants must be students in final year of upper-secondary school or upper-secondary graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time university-level studies.

Awards

The authorized distribution for new awards is $92,500. Up to 35 awards will be granted as follows:

  • Peter Hashem Memorial Scholarship: One (1) award of $7,500, named the Peter Hashem Memorial Scholarship, will be granted to the top ranked high school senior studying in any field.
  • Teradyne Scholarship: Thirty-four (34) awards of $2,500 each will be granted to students studying in any field.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Students may receive an award a maximum of four (4) times.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Teradyne, Inc. Payment is made in August for U.S. students and wired to students outside the U.S. in September.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Any unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Teradyne, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Academic records (certificates for international students)

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 6, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
