TEST-RISE Financial Progress Scholarship

RISE Credit has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered for part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the RISE Financial Progress Scholarship must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student or plan to enroll at an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic semester.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
  • Complete all 10 financial courses on the RISE website.
    *Employees of RISE Credit, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to apply for the RISE Financial Progress Scholarship.

Award Amounts

The authorized distribution for new awards is $15,000. Up to five (5) awards of $3,000 each will be granted.

Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Recipients will be selected based on understanding of the financial video modules, an outside appraisal, and the following essay response:

“In around 750 words, tell us about the financial courses you have completed and describe how you will be able to utilize it in your personal life. Have you helped anyone else with what you learned in these valuable financial courses? Do you feel it will help you achieve your long-term financial goals?”

Financial need will not be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of RISE Credit play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified by end of June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. If not selected as a recipient, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of RISE Credit. Payments will be in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours, and term in which the course was taken.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than 3:00 p.m. Central Time on May 7, 2020.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
