The Baxter Foundation established a competitive, merit-based scholarship program to assist children of eligible Baxter employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. These renewable scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The scholarship award amount is $3,000 USD.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, financial need or national origin.

Eligibility
Full-time study is required to be eligible for the Scholarship Program. Full-time study is defined as full-time enrollment for the entire upcoming academic year. Students who attend a U.S. military academy are eligible to apply for a one-time scholarship award.

Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 USD scholarship that can be renewed for up to three additional years or when they graduate (whichever comes first), if GPA and eligibility requirements are met. Interested students must complete the online application by this year’s deadline. DO NOT mail any documentation to the Foundation. All requested materials must be provided to Scholarship America Inc.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Non-recipients may reapply each year they meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed ONLY by Scholarship America, except award amounts granted and employee information, which is used to verify parent employment and announce awards internally.

Awards (issued in USD (U.S. dollars) are for undergraduate study and can be used for qualified education-related expenses:

  • Tuition
  • School fees
  • School books
  • Required school supplies

One deferral per recipient is allowed, and the length of deferral cannot exceed two years.

Selection of Scholarship Recipients
The Foundation does not participate in the selection process. Scholarship recipients are selected only by Scholarship America based on:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Statement of goals and aspirations
  • Exceptional personal or family circumstances are also taken into consideration

Financial need is not considered.

Aligned with IRS regulations for corporate scholarship programs, only the top 25% of eligible applicants are selected as recipients. In no instance does any officer or employee of Baxter or the Foundation play a part in the selection process. All applicants agree to accept the decision of Scholarship America as final.

Provided qualified applications are received, awards will be granted in proportion to the number of applications received per country.

Notification
Applicants will be notified about the status of their submission by mid-July via the email address provided within their application. If that email address changes, contact Scholarship America immediately and provide an updated email.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Scholarship recipients will be required to accept the scholarship and verify their enrollment.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Foundation. For students in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, Scholarship America disburses awards by check, payable to the school and mailed to each recipient’s home address. Awards are wired to all non-U.S. (i.e., international) scholarship recipients once proof of enrollment and wire form have been received by Scholarship America.

As part of your application, you will need to upload the following documents:

  • A complete and current transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. The transcript must list the student’s name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and the term in which each course was taken.

  • NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
  • Non-U.S. Students: Due to differences in educational systems, applicants from countries other than the US or Canada must provide the following documents:
    • English translations for all non-English documents
    • Legible photocopies of the following educational documents from the past four years:
      • Academic record (transcript of grades)
      • Secondary school credential/diploma/certificate, if earned, and
      • Results of academic examinations

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
