TotalEnergies American Services Inc. Scholarship Program

TotalEnergies American Services, Inc. and its participating US affiliates have established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college, vocational school, or hospital school of nursing programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the TotalEnergies American Services Inc. Scholarship Program must be:

    • Dependent children*, of regular, fulltime employees who are actively employed by TotalEnergies American Services, Inc. and its participating US affiliates when the recipients are selected and payments are made. Natural or adopted children of employees who have retired, are deceased, are on long-term disability, or have been severed to a work-force reduction, may also be eligible.
      *Dependent children are defined as unmarried, natural, or legally adopted children, stepchildren, and legal wards supported wholly by the employee.
    • Current high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time course of study for the entire academic year at an accredited U.S. two- or four-year college or university, vocational-technical school, or a hospital school of nursing.

Children of Executives and Inpats are ineligible to apply

Awards

Authorized new annual distribution is $35,000. Assuming there are qualified applicants, up to 10 awards of $2,500 each will be granted and up to 10 awards of $1,000 each will be granted.

Awards will be granted in rank order based on merit. The top 10 ranked students will receive the Thriving Renewable Award and the next 10 applicants will receive the Achievement Award.

    • Renewable Award – $2,500 award is renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned; whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance, full-time enrollment, and continued parental employment*.
      *Natural or adopted children of employees who have retired, are deceased, are on long-term disability, or have been severed due to a workforce reduction, may also be eligible.
    • Achievement Award – $1,000 award is one-time only and not renewable.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Upon receipt of scholarship funds, Sponsor authorizes SAI to release funds as award payments according to the program calendar.

SAI will process renewal awards for previous programs based on the initial award amount.

 

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will not be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of TotalEnergies American Services, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of TotalEnergies American Services, Inc. Payments are made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 28, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
