TPC Group, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist students from Cesar E. Chavez and Port Neches-Groves High Schools in Texas. Applicants must be meet specific requirements regarding major course of study and postsecondary school which they will be attending.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the TPC Group Mark of Excellence Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:
*Eligible engineering majors include chemical, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and industrial.
**Eligible two-year colleges are Brazosport College, Lamar Institute of Technology, San Jacinto College, Houston Community College, Lee College, or Lamar State College-Port Arthur.
The total authorized distribution for new awards will be determined by the Sponsor each year. Provided there are qualified applicants, awards will be allocated according to college choice and following Sponsor directive.
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment and are for undergraduate study only.
*$2,500 awards are renewable up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the student maintaining a 2.75 grade point average and continued full-time enrollment at a four-year school in an eligible course of study as outlined in the eligibility criteria.
*$1,250 awards are renewable for one additional year or until an associate of applied science degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the student maintaining a 2.75 grade point average and continued full-time enrollment at an eligible school in an eligible course of study as outlined in the eligibility criteria.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational aspirations and goals, any unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need will be considered. Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with primary consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of TPC Group, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in March.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of TPC Group, Inc. Payment is made in August.
