The Tracy Family Foundation College Scholarship Fund
Application status: Closed

The Tracy Family Foundation funds a college scholarship program for Brown County High School graduates. Grant funds for this program are awarded to Scholarship America, the administrator of the program. Since the BCHS Class of 2011, more than 100 BCHS graduates have been selected to receive scholarships. The Foundation’s goal is for 75% of all BCHS graduates to earn a post-secondary credential within 5 years of graduating. This is a work in progress and there’s still more to do to reach our goal.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Tracy Family Foundation College Scholarship Fund must:

  • Be a high school senior from Brown County High School and have earned at least one “BC and Beyond” certificate.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Direct descendants of Robert and Dorothy Tracy and step-children of direct descendants of Robert and Dorothy Tracy are ineligible.

Dot Foods Scholarship recipients are ineligible.

The authorized distribution for new awards will be determined at decisions. Awards may be eligible for renewal. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (2.75 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent) in a full-time course of study.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of your “BC and Beyond” score, financial need, first family generation to attend college, academic performance, education and career goals and Brown County essay.

Financial need is considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any member, officer or staff of the Tracy Family Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Scholarship America will announce in late May those students who have been selected as recipients of a Tracy Family Foundation Scholarship.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Tracy Family Foundation. Payment is made in one installment in early August. Checks are made payable to the institution for the student and sent to the college/university.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
