The application for the Trader Joe’s College Scholarship has been reopened and will be accepting applications until July 21, 11:59 PM Central Time

Trader Joe’s has established a scholarship program to assist Crew Members who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Trader Joe’s College Scholarship Program must be:

  • Crew Members who have worked 900 or more hours in the twelve-month period preceding May 31, 2020.
  • High school graduates pursuing a certificate, associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree who plan to enroll in full- or part-time study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school during the 2020 (August 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020) academic term.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award determined by Trader Joe’s College Scholarship Committee. Award amounts fluctuate annually based on the total number of applicants.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, a consideration statement, and an optional statement of financial need. Applicants are not required to provide financial information, however, financial need will be considered in determining the award amount. Award amounts fluctuate annually based on the total number of applicants.

Applicants who submit a completed Student Aid Report will be considered separate from those who do not.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late September. Recipients will be required to submit proof of enrollment. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Trader Joe’s processes scholarship payments. College Scholarship awards are made directly to recipients in September or October through payroll following verification of current enrollment.
