The TRALA Founders Scholarship awards scholarships to assist employees and children and grandchildren of full-time or part-time employees of TRALA member companies who plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the TRALA Founders Scholarship Program must:
Be a current full-time or part-time employee of a TRALA member company in North America with a minimum of one (1) year of employment as of the application deadline date.
Children and grandchildren of former or current TRALA Board Members or Officers are ineligible for consideration.
The authorized distribution for new awards is $20,000. Up to 4 awards of $5,000 each will be granted. Awards are renewable up to an additional three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of TRALA play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students that are not awarded a scholarship may reapply to the program each cycle they meet eligibility requirements.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of TRALA. Payment is made in August.
