Northbound Scholarship Program

TRUNO Retail Technology Solutions is proud to fund a scholarship program assisting full-time and part-time employees and their children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Northbound Scholarship Program must:

  • Full-time or part-time employees of Truno Retail Technology who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date

OR

  • Be dependent* children, age 25 and under, of full-time or part-time Truno Retail Technology employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date
    *Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduates
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Award Information

The authorized distribution for new awards is $10,000. Up to 10 awards of $1,000 each will be granted.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Financial need is not considered.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does Doug and Cindy Sanders or any officer or employee of Truno Retail Technology Solutions Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Truno Retail Technology Solutions Inc. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 20, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
