Universal Music Group has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Universal Music Group Lew Wasserman Scholarship Program must:
The combined income of an applicant’s family may not exceed $300,000.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $4,000. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $500 to $4,000. Recipients who demonstrate no financial need are eligible for awards at the $500 minimum amount.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Universal Music Group. Payments are made in August.
