United Fire Group has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Dependent* children, age 26 and under, of full-time employees who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
Financial need as calculated by Scholarship America must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of United Fire Group play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified via email of their status in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of United Fire Group. Payments are sent to the recipient and made payable to the school. Payments are made in one installment early August.
Also as part of your application, one online recommendation must be submitted on your behalf by 3:00 p.m. Central Time on April 2, 2020.
Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
