NBCUniversal Lew Wasserman Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: May 31, 2022 3:00 pm CT

The Lew Wasserman Scholarship Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist children of NBCUniversal employees who plan to continue their education in college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the NBCUniversal Lew Wasserman Scholarship Program must:

  • Children of NBCUniversal regular, full-time domestic employees who have completed a minimum three years continuous employment as of the application deadline date.
*Children are defined as natural born or adopted, stepchildren or children for whom the NBCUniversal employee has been appointed legal guardian or been given legal custody.
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll or undergraduates who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university.

The combined income of an applicant’s family may not exceed $150,000.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $4,000. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Financial need will be considered to determine the amount of each award. Recipients who demonstrate no financial need are eligible for awards at the $500 minimum amount. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

All applicants will be notified in July.
