VANS High School Custom Culture Scholarship Program

VANS has established a scholarship program to assist 2022 high school seniors/graduates from one of the top 50 schools of VANS High School Custom Culture art contest who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be class of 2022 high school seniors/graduates from one of the top 50 schools of VANS High School Custom Culture art contest.
  • Plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Awards

Up to 5 awards of $10,000 will be granted.

Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, participation in school and community activities, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, a (1,000 character) statement on how receiving this scholarship will make an impact, and an online recommendation completed by a the Custom Culture High School Art teacher.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to art-related majors.
Scholarship America will select 10 finalists and VANS will select recipients.

Applicants will also be asked to submit a link to their art portfolio as part of the application. Only VANS will evaluate art portfolio. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late August.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of VANS. Payment is made in late August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Most recently filed tax return (Form 1040).

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf by a Custom Culture High School Art teacher no later than June 2, 2022 3:00 pm Central Time.
