vCORE Women in Technology Scholarship Program

vCORE Technology Partners has established a scholarship program for women who reside in Hawaii who are current high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology at an accredited two- or four-year college located in the state of residency.

As vCORE has defined its mission to be a force for good in our industry and the world, this scholarship program is intended to encourage more women to pursue career paths in information technology and computer science.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Identify as female.
  • Be residents of Hawaii.
  • Be current high school seniors attending a high school in their current state of residency.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

Preference is given to students planning to enroll in their current state of residency.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $2,500.

Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance in a Computer Science or Information Technology major.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic information, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

Financial need will not be considered.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in mid-June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of vCORE Technology Partners. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours, and term in which the course was taken.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 21, 2021 3:00 pm CT.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
