Victor Vazquez Scholarship Program

MSA – General Monitors has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Victor Vazquez Scholarship Program must be:

  • Children of full-time employees who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
  • High school seniors or graduates who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Award Information:

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Awards of up to $5,000 will be granted to students attending four-year colleges or universities, up to $2,000 to students attending vocational-technical schools and $1,000 to students attending two-year community or junior colleges.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Preference may be given to students who have not been previous recipients.

Awards are limited to a maximum of four years and are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in November. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

 

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of MSA – General Monitors. Payment is made in one installment in early December.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE:  If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than October 7, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
