Voith Scholarship Program

Voith, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be dependent* children, age of 23 and under, of U.S. and Canada Voith, Inc. employees who have a minimum of two years employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Children of permanently disabled or deceased employees are also eligible for a period of two years after the employee’s disability or death.
    *Dependent children are defined as unmarried, natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduate
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Maintained at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 (C+) cumulative grade point average; or, if their school is on a numeric system, at least 82% (C+) cumulative grade point average.

Note: Officers’ children are not eligible. Students attending United States services academies are not eligible.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $2,000. Allocation of awards will be granted by division. If qualified applications are not received for a particular division, the sponsor will determine if awards can be granted to students in another division.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Voith, Inc. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic information
  • Leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours, and term in which the course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 6, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
