The Vollrath Company L.L.C. Scholarship Program

The Vollrath Company L.L.C.  has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Vollrath Company L.L.C Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children  of full-time or part-time employees who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

Terry Kohler Memorial Scholarship
$3,000 (one award)
Terry Kohler, former Chairman of the Board of Vollrath Company, encouraged those around him to strive for excellence through education. Vollrath carries on that ideal by awarding this scholarship to the applicant who has attained the highest educational ranking.

Robert Lope Memorial Scholarship
$2,000 (two awards)
Robert Lope, former Director of Operations in Sheboygan, was committed to continued learning. In his memory, Vollrath awards two scholarships to applicants who reflect a dedication to education.

Vollrath Company Honors Scholarship
$2,000 (one award)
Vollrath is committed to the education of tomorrow’s leaders and wishes to challenge, support and encourage students to achieve high measures of academic excellence. This scholarship is awarded to the applicant who exhibits extraordinary academic and leadership skills.

Vollrath Company Vocational Scholarship
$2,000 (one award; non-renewable)
Vollrath believes it is our duty to help empower the next generation of innovators, educators, researchers and leaders in the trades. This scholarship is awarded to the applicant who exhibits academic excellence and leadership skills and is enrolled in a vocational program.

Awards, with the exception of the Vollrath Company Vocational Scholarship, may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance of a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in a full-time course of study, along with continued parental employment at the time checks are mailed

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Vollrath Company L.L.C play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in mid-April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Vollrath Company, L.L.C.  Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 26, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
