Walker Forge, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist dependent children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Walker Forge, Inc. Scholarship Program must be:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $3,000. Awards are for tuition and academic fees.
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who do not demonstrate need (or who do not provide financial information) will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance. Continued parental employment, except retirement, is also a consideration. If employment is discontinued except for retirement, the continuation of the scholarship will be subject to review.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in April.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Walker Forge, Inc. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
