Warner College Scholarship Fund
Deadline to apply: January 17, 2025 3:00 pm CT

The Westervelt Company has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Warner College Scholarship Fund must:

  • Dependent* children, age 23 and under, of full-time or part-time employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline and actively employed by The Westervelt Company at the time the award check is mailed.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Dependents of international employees that meet the eligibility requirements may apply.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted.

Awards may be renewed for one additional year for students pursuing an associate’s degree or certificate; or up to three additional years for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at The Westervelt Company, and continuation of the program by the company.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Applicants not selected as recipients can reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Any unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Westervelt Company play a part in the selection and all applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in February.
