Waters Global Employee Scholarship Program

The Waters Global Employee Scholarship Program has been established to recognize outstanding academic excellence by providing financial assistance for undergraduate study. Scholarships are awarded to eligible employees’ children worldwide.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Waters Global Employee Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent children* of full- or part-time employees of Waters Corporation with a minimum of one year of service as of the application deadline date.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or students in their final year of secondary school who are planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a degree at an accredited four-year college, university or the international equivalent.

Children of Waters Executive Committee members are not eligible.

The Profile section on the Scholarship America Hub utilizes additional questions to determine if eligibility is met for other potential scholarship opportunities.

Award Information:

  • Two $7,500 renewable awards will be granted.
  • Awards are for education related expenses and may not exceed the verified cost of study.
  • Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.
  • Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Waters Corporation.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Waters Corporation. Payment is made in August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Waters Corporation play a part in the selection.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • US applicants must provide a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • International applicants must provide a current, complete transcript of grades, certificate, or exam scores showing their academic performance.
  • English translations must be provided for all non-English documents.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 21, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
