  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • Personal Essay*
  • An online recommendation.

*Personal Essay Question (included in application): “Dick Wood was a model servant leader – always putting the needs of others and the organization above his own. The goal of this scholarship program is to help expand your education and future opportunities, so you can then help make the world a better place just as Dick has and continues to do. Tell us how you believe this educational experience will help you to become a better leader, to find your own higher purpose, and to help fulfill the lives of others in whatever field you pursue”.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Scholarship America will select up to 30 finalists and Sponsor will select recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $7,500 award.  Up to 10 awards will be granted. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and continued Wawa, Inc. employment).

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.
