Wayne County Bank has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors of select eligible high schools who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Wayne County Bank Scholarship Program must:
Up to seven (7) awards of $2,00 each will be granted as follows:
Awards are renewable up to three (3) years on the basis of maintaining full-time enrollment status and a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Wayne County Bank. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations and any unusual personal or family circumstances. Financial need is not considered.
Preference will be given to students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 to 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Wayne County Bank play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
