Western Union has established the Western Union Global Scholarship Award Program to assist employees’ children who plan to pursue post-secondary education in a college program. This program is available to children of global employees, including the collective bargaining unit group. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school of the student’s choice.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Western Union Global Scholarship Award Program must be:

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Western Union play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Scholarship award will be $2,500 (USD). While awards are not renewable, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Western Union Company. Payment is made in early August.

NOTE:(U.S. students only) If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 27, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
