Dr. Michael and Mrs. Kay Wilcox have established an education fund to assist students in approved healthcare-related course of study. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited college or vocational school of the student′s choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Dr. Michael and Mrs. Kay Wilcox Education Fund must meet all of the following criteria:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $2,500 to $5,000.
Awards are renewable for up to three additional years or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent) and remaining in a healthcare-related field of study for the entire academic year. Recipients attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who transfer to a four-year college or university may receive $5,000 per year up to the combined total of four years.
Award recipients will also be provided the opportunity to receive a mentorship by Dr. Michael Wilcox each year the award is granted.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. Selection of recipients will be made by a committee of no more than two Dr. Michael and Mrs. Kay Wilcox family representatives and a minimum of three non-family representatives. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Dr. Michael and Mrs. Kay Wilcox Education Fund. Payment is made in August.
Dr. Michael and Mrs. Kay Wilcox reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
