Wisconsin Public Service Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Potential applicants may be eligible for the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation Daughters & Sons Scholarship Program OR the We Energies Daughters & Sons Scholarship Program.
Dependent children of part-time or full-time active or retired employees of We Energies or WEC Business Services employees domiciled in the We Energies service area are NOT eligible for the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation Daughters & Sons Scholarship Program. Instead, access the We Energies Daughters & Sons Scholarship Program to review eligibility requirements.
Applicants to the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation Daughters and Sons Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount of $1,000.
Awards for four-year degree programs may be renewed for up to three (3) additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Awards for two-year degree programs or vocational-technical degrees may be renewed for one (1) additional year or until the degree or certificate is earned, whichever occurs first. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Wisconsin Public Service Foundation.
Renewal students may not decline their award and reapply to the program for a larger award amount.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount.
Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Wisconsin Public Service Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
All applicants will be notified in April.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Wisconsin Public Service Foundation. Payment is made in one installment in August.
