The Underwood Family has established a scholarship program to assist children of Young’s Holdings employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Adrienne and Vernon O. Underwood, Sr. Scholarship Program award must be:
Children of Young’s Market Company, LLC and affiliate companies’ executive officers and Underwood and Smith family members are ineligible for this program.

Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Underwood and Smith families or any officer or employee of Young’s Market Company, LLC or its affiliates play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Underwood family. Payment is made in one installment on August 1.
