Dominic J. Zaccone Memorial Scholarship Program

PNC Bank, N.A., as Trustee of the Dominic J. Zaccone Memorial Trust has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors or graduates of Highland High School in Blackwood, New Jersey who plan to continue their education in college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Dominic J. Zaccone Memorial Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors or graduates of Highland High School
  • Be in the top 25% of their graduating or current class
  • Plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

PNC Employees, children of PNC employees or Trust committee members are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $7,500. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A.. Payment is made in August.

Selection Criteria

The program will evaluate and rank all eligible applications using modified SAI evaluation criteria including the consideration of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation
  • Financial need
  • A custom 1,000 character essay.

SAI will provide all eligible applicants and Sponsor Trust committee will select recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.  All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.


As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 26, 2024 4:00 pm Eastern Time.
