Ross Stores, Inc. established the Stuart Moldaw Scholarship in 2009 to honor Stuart G. Moldaw – Ross’ founder and Chairman Emeritus – for his lifelong commitment to education. The Scholarship Program provides tuition assistance to Associates and their dependents who plan to continue their education in college, graduate school, or vocational-technical school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time or part-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. If selected, recipients can apply to renew their scholarships each year for three additional years.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
1Good standing means a full-time or part-time Associate has not received a corrective action or performance improvement plan since September 17, 2024 if they are non-exempt (hourly) or since March 17, 2024 if exempt (salaried).
2Part-time study is a minimum of six credit hours per term.
All applicants will be notified by Scholarship America if they are selected for an award or not. Scholarship America aims to send notification no later than July 31.* Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment will be made in one installment, which Scholarship America intends to send in late July.* Checks are made payable to the school and either mailed to each recipient’s home address, or sent via EFT to participating schools.
*Notification and payment dates are subject to change due to unforeseeable circumstances.
Once a pool of qualified applicants is selected, scholarship recipients will be selected from that pool of applicants with consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest financial need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or Associate of Ross Stores, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
NOTE: SAT or ACT test scores are not required. However, if you choose to provide them and they are not already listed on your high school transcript, then you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are unnecessary.
If necessary, a separate printed Financial Data Form (PDF) may also be submitted.
